Welcome to the Clinic for Attention, Learning and Memory (CALM)

Our goal is to determine the cause of difficulties with attention, learning and/or memory and to recommend an individualized treatment approach using the most current brain based research.

Since many disorders can either resemble or also complicate attention problems, we have a conservative and comprehensive approach to the assessment process.

Our assessment of children and adults includes:
  • A thorough clinical history and a battery of tests measuring attention (auditory and visual abilities)
  • Cognitive elements (IQ, achievement and memory)
  • Neuro-psychological elements (brain functioning)
  • Learning disabilities (reading, language and expressive / receptive problems)
  • Assessment for possible secondary disorders including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive symptoms and/or other learning and attention disorders.
Treatment approach at CALM involves empowering the individual with a comprehensive knowledge of all available treatment options.

We offer psycho-educational groups for adults, significant others and parents of children with ADHD. In addition we will provide individual consultation, coaching and family strategy planning. We are available to work with school staff in coaching and educational accommodations.

During the past five years we have seen a tremendous shift in the needs of our clientele. 80% of our current evaluations are due to previously inaccurate diagnoses or unsuccessful treatment.

CALM now offers off-site consultation, second opinions and treatment planning in conjunction with physicians, coaches and other professionals. This service includes initial telephone interview, complete review of client records, a comprehensive treatment plan and a telephone follow-up.

In addition, CALM has an extensive referral network available to our clients. Specialists in many fields are available to coordinate and share expertise, ensuring effective, individualized and successful treatment.

For information on off-site consultations or to schedule Gary to speak at your event, please contact Nancy at 612-872-9072.
